The concept of “perspective” is an important facet in each of our lives. It is easy to take such a simple notion for granted. What people may not realize is that every action and reaction in life is filtered through your personal perspective at a given point. Your point of view or how you process information is significant in how moods and emotions play out in life. When you are in a good mood, then your perspective may be positive even when unforeseen challenges arise.

Here is a quick observation that I made this morning. Look at the first picture below: Just another pretty flower in bloom this fall season; delicate, purple and worth appreciating if only for a moment, right?

Now, look at this second image below: The same flower but I zoomed out to show the surrounding area. In the distance, an asphalt plant and directly behind the flower, a polluted retention pond full of trash and other debris. Even the flower that caught my eye turns out to be the product of a weed.

Still, based on my perspective, beauty can be found in the most unassuming places. Whether it be an element of nature or even another person. When we are mindful of our surroundings and even our thoughts, things will present themselves in inspiring ways – especially if your perspective is a positive one.
