I have been hearing a lot about “Same Sex Marriage” recently both in the news and in the lunch room at work. Obama made his stand and I congratulate him; so did North Carolina and I cringe as the nation watches that state quickly back slide in human progress and social evolution.  I even heard someone argue that Obama is not a real Christian because he supports gay marriage.  Really?

How about this – Obama’s tweet about supporting same-sex marriage broke a “Retweet” record on Twitter.

I try to stay out of this controversial stuff when possible….

No, that is a lie….

Actually, I am kind of pissed off. First, get God and Religion out of our politics. Religion has led to so much persecution and the erosion of human rights that it makes my head spin.  When you look back on 2000 years of history, I truly question whether or not organized religion has truly benefited mankind. Further, who are Christians to say what is right or morally wrong when it comes to people’s civil rights? Quit being so god damn egotistical with your religion. There are plenty of paths to god and it is not up to you to choose the fate of other people’s lives. With divorce rates at nearly 50% in America, worry about your own marriage.

If Ellen DeGeneres wants to remarry Portia de Rossi in North Carolina then the more to them. I just don’t care!

What I do care about is people being able to embrace their spirituality, True Nature and bliss without persecution, commendation and suffering. We all have more in common that you know. We should start living with the common purpose to be happy and work to form a mutually beneficial society that exhibits support, compassion and understanding.

I apologize if I hurt anyones feelings. That was not the point. The point is that we all need to be a little more mindful of the big picture; that we are all people with different needs, wants and desires with the same goal of finding happiness in a world of indifference.
