When looking  back on the past does not interest you anymore…. Well, you know you are heading forward in the right direction….  It is amazing how much energy we can expend on thinking about the past: Our failures and mistakes; our stresses and worries about things we probably can’t change. The past is the past….

The only control we have is the present moment… right here, right now… It is the actions we take right here; right now that can change the future; thus rewriting any past negativity. Remember that as we head into a New Year. Your past does not need to define you. Further, you have complete control over the present moment which can dictate the future…

Peace, Love and Illumination!

“Everything changes once we identify with being the witness to the story  rather than the actor in it…”

 – Ram Dass

A poignant quote by spiritual leader Ram Dass. What does this mindful thought really mean? Of course, I am not here to necessarily paraphrase a quote from a great thinker; instead I am here to simply analyze this quote with my own devices on how such meaning would fit into a Responsive Universe. There may be a slight difference…

It is quite simple really; especially when we get back to the basics of meditation. I have always mentioned how there is a misconception about meditation. It is not about controlling the thoughts in our head – it is about being an observer of the thoughts in our head. That is a tough principle to reconcile especially for people new to meditation. There is this passive or underlying stress or urge to try to quiet the mind when the goal of meditation is to simply be an observer of the thoughts that continually float in and out of our heads. The goal of meditation is to not attach ourselves to the dramas of the mind. Do not judge the thoughts and do not be overly positive or especially negative to your thoughts – just be the observer – just be… nothing more…

Once we master meditation and let that skill set transcend into our daily life practice, our ability to not be so sensitive to ego and false self is actualized. We are able to establish a balance or baseline of energy that remains positive to neutral in our thoughts, emotions, actions and reactions; even during negative life situations. The objective is to suffer less. Just like in meditation, the goal is not to be the thought or let a thought drive our meditative focus – the goal is to simply be an observer. In doing so, we are more of a witness and less of an actor. In life, we have the same choice; particularly in times of conflict and challenge: With minfulness, we can leave our ego facilities out of such dramas and simply be a witness to the story instead of being embroiled in the drama as an actor. Such changes in how we think and react to conflict and challenge will net completely different results. Now, the goal is not to be a by stander and live with no interaction. We all have to face challenges and conflict on a daily basis  – the goal is to not let challenges or conflict be the driving energy to our reactions to such events. Be an observer and  be mindful of how our egos and false-self want to take such dramas into a negative space. By being an observer, we also create space between the sitation and our immediate action or reaction; all in an effort to avoid negative blind responses. When you detach from a situation of conflict or challenge and face difficult situations with mindfulness and true nature you will find the most proactive solution. Be the witness and not the actor. Let mindfulness, space and clarity be your source of intent.

I wrote the Responsive Universe as a hand book to self-discovery. Within its pages are 9 chapters or Mandalas – each a stepping stone forward in meditation and mindfulness.  Reading and implementing  the helpful daily life practices and guided meditations is a measured process – a journey not to be rushed.

Still, what can we do now in the present moment to immediately bring more happiness and wellness into our busy lives? below is a short list of 5 simple things you can do daily to perpetuate better health and happiness:

Compliment Someone: It is that easy. Whether it is a co-worker, significant other or complete stranger; go out of your way to say something nice to someone else. It is a simple gesture that creates a ripple of quantum positive energy that will eventually return to its source. You!

Drink Water: Seems obvious right? But for those of you who drink soda pop (soft drinks) or other sugary beverages, I am talking to you! Substitute water  and be sure you are getting  enough. Not to get graphic but you should be drinking enough water each day to pee clear at least once. Water is the simplest way to cleanse and hydrate your body.

Revel in the intricacies of Nature

Get out in Nature: I write all the time about how Nature speaks. If you do not know what I mean then you need to be more mindful of the benefits of immersing yourself in our beautiful natural world.  Even if it is for a moment on your break time at work – get outside and feel the sunshine and breathe in some fresh air! Even better, go for a walk in the woods!

Breathe: Even simpler! Well, not literally… Practice mindful breathing if only for a couple of breaths. Breathe in deeply and visualize positive quantum energy entering your body; cleansing your aura or energy footprint. Exhale and feel all the stress, negativity, guilt, fear and suffering leave you – all trappings of the ego. Breathe in positive energy – exhale negative energy; if only for a minute. Easy right?

Root your being in the present moment and not the past or future

Be in the Present Moment:  The past is gone so there is nothing you can do about that. The future has yet to come so there is no sense worrying about something that has yet to arise. When you live in the present moment you are mindful and aware; in full control of your thoughts, ideas, actions and reactions. In the present moment you have two decisions. You can root your energy and intent in positivity or negativity. It’s your call….

5 easy things that will take up less than 5 minutes of your life – it’s that simple!

The Universe does not judge…

The Universe does not reprimand…

The Universe does not promote happiness…

The Universe does not control your destiny…..

…you do

We live in a Responsive Universe. A conscious cosmos where every thought, action and reaction creates a wave of energy and vibration at the sub atomic level. Basic quantum physics already sheds a bright light on how our responses to life are interconnected and intertwined in a quantum field of light, energy and vibration.

Think of the  Universe as a clean slate… An empty canvas…  The conduit for your energy – whether positive or negative.  The Universe responds to your thoughts, actions and reactions. You are the painter adding color to that proverbial painters canvas.  You are the energy and the Universe is your pathway; your medium… Even  when we comprehend the concept of God as it relates to the Universe we have to include ourselves in that equation. It is our positive and negative thoughts, actions and reactions that become the hand of God. We have the power to create a living heaven or a living hell within this Universe and microcosmic world (Earth) that takes heed to our energy footprints; our waves and vibrations of existence.

When you think happy, positive thoughts these pulses of energy translate into positive actions which more often than not are greeted with positive reactions. Society can be thought of as one breathing organism. When you feed this organism with positivity, it responds with positivity.  This is what defines karma. It begins on the individual level. You have the power of happiness within the palm of your hand. You alone can allow the ego to govern your thoughts and actions or you can let your True Nature be the governing force. True Nature is a place within and without your body that is free of ego and false-self. When you strip away all that is negative: Fear, anger, jealousy and greed you are left with only love and positive energy. When you root your intent; your thoughts, actions and reactions in True Nature you connect to sometime genuine and unadulterated.

You are creating a Responsive Universe…. You are in control. The present moment is the essence of God and Universe – the totality of everything at your finger tips. Believe this and you too will live in a Conscious Cosmos… a Responsive Universe….

Nature is and always will be our cradle of birth, the story of life and the doors of cessation that greet us all. Nature is a wellspring of energy, wisdom and wellness. Have you found a connection with Nature? Not just a connection, but an intimate connection…  Most likely if you subscribe to this blog or are mindful of this Responsive Universe we live in then you probably have forged your very own personal bond with the natural world… Think about it… We are part of nature: Made of the same elements, minerals and water. We are born from this environment and when we die we will return to nature. There is a natural energy source that binds us to Nature – a connection to the Universe as one.

“Nature has been for me, for as long as I can remember, a source of solace, inspiration, adventure and delight;  A home, a teacher, a companion.”   – Lorraine Anderson

Great quote from writer Lorraine Anderson… It  is a simple quote and yet it encompasses all facets of nature and our human and even spiritual connection to our natural environment. Once you find this relationship and understand the positive energy associated with nature we can take our journey to the next level.

Within nature is every tool we need to succeed  as happy, mindful, spiritual creatures.  We rely on nature for our survival as a human species and from a more philosophical standpoint, we rely on nature to connect to our True Nature: The pure, unadulterated energy and thought humans possess completely void of ego and false-self. In Nature we can find the silence that lies between our thousands of thoughts that careen through our minds every day. From silence wells wisdom and positive energy.

“Through you nature becomes aware of itself. Nature has been waiting for you, as it were, for millions of years.  Nature can bring you to stillness. That is its gift to you”.  – Eckhart Tolle

Not all of us had wonderful childhoods… We all have made mistakes that we probably regret…. None of us are perfect….  Some of us are damaged little flowers; at the hands of abuse, addiction or loss… Life can be a bumpy road…

Don’t let your past dictate the future…. Only the present moment should define you…

It should be a goal to try and understand the past so that we can correct any control patterns born from past adversity. Control patterns are hard-wired behaviors adopted mostly by the ego that many times unknowingly govern our thoughts, actions and reactions. An abusive or negative past can condition us in thinking we are broken or not worthy. It creates low self-esteem.

We need to understand the past but not allow it to dictate the future. The past is gone… There is nothing you can do about it! We can only change the future. That change begins right now in the present moment. You see, the present moment is the only place in time we have control. Even the future can look foreboding so why fret about something that has yet to materialize? Why continually beat ourselves up for a past we can’t change?

We can only do something positive right now in the present moment. Every little positive change in the present moment will eventually shift that pendulum of negative energy to a better place. Like the sun gazing across the sky in the afternoon; you can choose to sit in the sun or the shade. It is your choice.

When you have control over the present moment; you have control over your destiny….

Biocentrism

I recently blogged about how physicist Michio Kaku has developed a scientific theory that points to the existence of God – based primarily on String Theory. Also creating a buzz this month is scientist, Robert Lanza who has made great strides in the study of Biocentrism which theorizes how life and consciousness are the keys to understanding the nature of the Universe. Specifically how human consciousness lives on after death. In a way, God and the Afterlife are analogous with the goal of bridging science with spirituality. That is the true premise of the Responsive Universe. The Biocentrism theory implies that death simply does not exist. Death is an illusion which arises in the minds of people – reinforced by Religion, ego and fear. The theory states that consciousness exists outside of the constraints of time and space. Our thoughts, feelings and energy are separate from flesh and bone. This notion fits well with the basic understandings of quantum mechanics; according to which a certain particle can be present anywhere and an event can happen in several, sometimes countless, ways. Humans are part of that event…

“Lanza believes that multiple universes can exist simultaneously. These universes contain multiple ways for possible scenarios to occur. In one universe, the body can be dead. And in another it continues to exist, absorbing consciousness which migrated to this universe.” This falls in line with String Theory which predicts extra dimensions, possibly even alternate Universes. One such theory is the 11-dimensional M-theory, which requires the Universe to have eleven dimensions as opposed to the usual three spatial dimensions and the fourth dimension of time. Other research in String Theory has purported as many as 26 space time dimensions for the Bosonic String explanation. These theories present us with a new picture of the Cosmos. Scientists including Andre Linde and Allan Guth have been studying the concept of “Multiverses” for decades. There are questions abound in regard to the origin of the Big Bang inflation as well as the statistical data that supports the theory that the Universe is expanding even quicker – a possible contradiction to current mass and gravity data. String Theory supports this data. Further mathematical measurements of dark energy are not matching current theoretical equations. The concept of multiple Universes would support the disparities seen within our quantum dominion. Further, such cosmic diversity could result in duplicates of Universes based simply on statistics and probability. String theory is still in its infancy and there are many exciting discoveries still to arise from the world of physics. If modern physics is capable of proving validity to alternate universes could these spatial dimensions be alternate realities or realms of the afterlife? As we continue to uncover the intricacies of the Cosmos, it has become clear that anything is possible because String Theory itself presents a universe of infinite possibilities.

stringtheory1

Theoretical physicist Michio Kaku claims to have developed a theory that might point to the existence of God.  Michio Kaku is not a quack scientist but is instead a very respected physicist who has gone to great lengths to research, explain and prove the existence of String Theory. String theory is an active research framework in particle physics that attempts to reconcile quantum mechanics and general relativity (into the theory of everything). String theory teaches that the electrons and quarks within an atom are not 0-dimensional objects, but rather 1-dimensional oscillating lines or strings, hence the name. These invisible vibrating strings may be infinitely diverse with variables of inestimable value. This would suggest that other cosmic manipulations could exist beyond the edge of our known Universe. Many theoretical physicists including Stephen Hawking believe String Theory is a step towards the correct fundamental description of nature and the Universe.

One of the problems with philosophically defining God is that the word “God” and been so overused, misused, abused and misinterpreted that the little three letter word carries too much dogma. Let’s forget for a moment that most conventional religions preach that God is in the form of a man. Nothing could be more egocentric than that notion. For our discussions here, lets define God as the Universe: God is a boundless orb, a sphere whose presence is felt by the mind and the senses. God’s infinite sphere has a center that is everywhere and a circumference that is boundless. God is an indescribable celestial consciousness that guides and directs all life and matter in form and non-form. God is the Universe – it is EVERYTHING…

stringtheory2

Physicist, Michio Kaku, has taken his work in String Theory even deeper. To come to his more recent conclusions, the physicist made use of what he calls “primitive semi – radius tachyons “.  Tachyons are theoretical particles capable to “unstick ” the Universe matter or vacuum space between matter particles, leaving everything free from the influences of the surrounding universe. Pretty deep stuff…  After conducting the revolutionary tests, Kaku came to the conclusion that we live in a “Matrix”. A cosmic fabric of space and time that by pure definition is everything that exists. You, me, the sub atomic world; The Universe in its totality.

“I have concluded that we are in a world made by rules created by an intelligence”, he affirmed. “Believe me, everything that we call chance today won’t make sense anymore.”

“To me it is clear that we exists in a plan which is governed by rules that were created, shaped by a universal intelligence and not by chance.”

Kaku further interjected that God is a mathematician. That the source or energy of God lies in a “Cosmic Music”. The music of Strings as noted in his theories of String Theory. God is the 1-dimensional oscillating strings already theorized.

Basic astrophysics tells us that the Universe is a expanding bundle of vast , pulsing energy. A composition of light, matter and vibration; sub atomic physics and gravity its governing forces. We as humans are connected to this energy. Our flesh and bones born from star dust. Our thoughts, actions and energy are interwoven into this matrix; this fabric that is the Cosmos. When you consider the concept of God you need to include yourself in that equation.  You, I and the Universe – ONE. Toss in a little quantum energy, gravity, light, oscillating strings and intellectual consciousness and you have GOD…

You have a Responsive Universe…

“However many storms are within you, there is always room for more…

The ocean did not gain its vastness by turning the rain away…”

– Pavana

This wisdom is believed to have originated from ancient Hindu texts. This particular quote brings great meaning and thus I would like to expand on its perceived premise. I think it is interesting to explore the ancient texts and quotes of famous; even enigmatic philosophers  of the past. If you release yourself from any dogmatic trappings and look at the common denominator of each religion or thought you will find many similarities; especially across Hinduism, Buddhism and early Christianity. There are lovely and empowering literary passages to explore from the ancients that spoke and wrote such wisdom so many years ago.

This particular Pavana quote speaks to me. As we have learned through experience, it is the challenges and suffering that teach the most poignant lessons in life. It is from great pain and affliction  that our True Nature arises from the ashes to allow us to vibrate to the next level of mindfulness and self-discovery. From every loss and lesson comes understanding and wisdom. To know pain and suffering is to know love and bliss. Within our minds and being is this vast, open space – this boundless realm within the mind that is infinite and endless like the Universe. With the right awareness, there is much space to be found for all our challenges and suffering. Each experience whether positive or negative shapes our being; our energy footprint. Each experience may shape us, but it does not have to define us. Our minds are much like the ocean: Sometimes turbulent and frothing with controlled chaos; sometimes peaceful and glassy.

The first notion is to continually remind ourselves of the space that exists within; especially in times of turmoil and challenge. Remind yourself that your mind is vast like the ocean and eventually things will calm down. The second notion is to remind yourself that from every negative will birth a positive. From night comes day and from rain comes sunshine. Good things are on the horizon and no matter the toil, you will become a stronger, more mindful and sensitive person.

It is easy to put your blind faith into something like religion. Put your unadulterated faith into yourself; into the vastness that is your being.  Self awareness and self-discovery is a much better spiritual investment.
